Grasslands, Croplands, and Ecosystems
I am an interdisciplinary environmental social science researcher, with expertise in environmental and agricultural public policy, ecosystem conservation, and adaptations to climate and market risks. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Rissman PIE (People, Institutions, and Ecosystems) Lab at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Environmental conservation and agriculture are globally vital for food security, water quality, carbon sequestration, and biodiversity. My goal is to advance academic literature and inform effective policy and decision-making across the following three research strands: (1) Environmental and Agricultural Policy Design and Implementation (2) Environmental and Agricultural Policy Social and Ecological Impacts (3) Political Economy of Agricultural Production, Treadmill of Production, Interest Groups, and Organizational Networks Quantitative and qualitative empirical methods I employ include surveys, econometric models, social network analysis, machine learning, interviews, and qualitative coding. My research has been supported by the following grants:
I have a B.A. in Agricultural and Forestry Economics & Management from Beijing Forestry University and a Ph.D. in Environmental Management from Peking University, at Dr. Wenjun Li's Natural Resource Management Lab. In addition, I was a visiting student at Dr. Lynn Huntsinger Lab at the University of California - Berkeley. |
